Social Work Advocacy & Case Management

At the YWCA Interim House, every resident is paired with a dedicated Case Manager to ensure they are fully supported during their stay and well-prepared for success after leaving the shelter. Our Case Management services are rooted in compassion, advocacy, and empowerment—helping residents build stability, restore hope, and move forward with confidence.
Case Managers work side by side with residents to create individualized plans that address immediate needs and long-term goals. These services are provided throughout their stay and include ongoing follow-up support as needed.
Services include, but are not limited to:
- Housing, employment, and healthcare referrals to connect residents with safe housing, job opportunities, and medical providers.
- Transportation support, to help residents access essential appointments and resources.
- Social Work Advocacy that empowers residents by amplifying their voices, defending their rights, and connecting them to vital community resources.
- Trauma-informed services that recognize the impact of domestic violence and provide care that is sensitive, respectful, and healing.
- Motivational interviewing techniques to encourage personal growth, confidence, and goal-setting.
- Parenting classes that strengthen family bonds, promote healthy communication, and support safe, nurturing environments for children.
- Follow-up support to ensure continued stability and success beyond their time at the shelter.

Our Case Management team understands that each survivor’s journey is unique. By providing both practical support and emotional encouragement, we help residents take empowered steps toward independence, healing, and a brighter future.
